SUMMARY:Dante's Trabucco Wine Dinner with Danilo Trabucco
DESCRIPTION:Theme: Wine Dinner with Danilo Trabucco \nCampania is one of Italy’s most exciting regions right now—volcanic soils\, coastal energy\, and a lineup of indigenous grapes that produce whites with serious lift (think Fiano\, Greco\, Falanghina) and reds with depth and structure (hello\, Aglianico). For this dinner\, we’re pouring wines from Cantina Trabucco\, a boutique producer in Campania with a focus on expressive\, territory-driven wines—including Falerno del Massico\, a historic\, distinctive corner of the region. \nCost: $50 per person for three courses + optional wine pairings for $25 \nInstead of a traditional multi-course format\, we’re building the evening around something we love most: pizza. We’ll start with antipasti\, then send hot wood-fired pizzas fresh out of the oven\, and finish with gelato. All sources will be paired with a pour of Danilo’s wines. Expect a relaxed\, lively pace that feels more like gathering around a table in Italy than sitting through a formal tasting. \nDanilo grew up in the vineyards his family planted in 1997 — the same year he was born — and now leads the winery his father founded in 2003. His vineyards sit in northern Campania in volcanic soils surrounded by Vesuvius\, the Phlegraean Fields\, and Roccamonfina\, a dramatic landscape that gives the wines their energy and character. \nWe’ll focus on wines from Falerno del Massico\, an ancient appellation the Romans once called the “wine of the gods.” After centuries of obscurity\, the region has returned to prominence and now produces some of the most exciting wines in southern Italy. \nSeated Dinner: 6:00 p.m. \nReservations Required: 402.476.5300 or online here via Toast.

SUMMARY:The Cheese & Wine Shop of Hastings presents The Wines of Grosgrain Winery
DESCRIPTION:Guided Wine Tasting \nTheme: The Wines of Grosgrain Winery \nWinemaker Matt Austin from Grosgrain winery in Washington is a bit of a throwback. While young and energetic personally his winemaking harkens to the “Old World” he attacks varieties and styles not often seen on the coast of the U.S. I’ve noticed a surge in cool winemaking trends in domestic also employing this tactic and breaking the mold of the ho-hum modern winemaking school of thought. Matt’s wines are filled with soul\, energy\, and deliciousness. If you haven’t been to Hastings yet this is a great day for a road trip. \nCost: Seated Tasting of with 6 wines with Charcuterie Pairings for $45.00  \nSeated Tasting: 6:00 p.m. \nReservations Required: 402.705.0090
