An Evening with Riccardo Clemente of Masseria Frattasi
Wednesday, November 12 | Reservations between 6–8pm | $125 per person
We are honored to welcome Riccardo Clemente of Masseria Frattasi to Dante for an unforgettable evening of wine, food, and history from the heart of Southern Italy.
About Masseria Frattasi
Masseria Frattasi has been at the center of winemaking in the Taburno area of Campania since 1779. One fascinating proof of this ancient heritage is a bas-relief displayed at the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, depicting the very same vine training system still used today on the slopes of Mount Taburno.
The Clemente family, growers for generations, owns some of the oldest vineyards in Campania. The historic Masseria (farm) has been the beating heart of the winery for over two centuries, now joined by a second site in nearby Bonea that reflects their growth and innovation.
Sustainability & Terroir
Masseria Frattasi is part of Italy’s SQNPI (National Quality System for Integrated Production), a sustainability program recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture for environmentally respectful practices. Their vineyards stretch across 30 hectares on Mount Taburno, between 1,000 and 3,000 feet above sea level, immersed in the wild landscape of this national park.
The soil here is a mosaic — mostly clay and limestone, interspersed with volcanic layers ranging in color from off-white to deep brown. This mix yields wines with smoky, earthy complexity, capturing both the elegance of limestone and the fire of lava.
The estate is best known for Falanghina (fresh, mineral-driven whites) and Aglianico (powerful, age-worthy reds often called the Barolo of the South). Each bottle reflects not just a grape, but centuries of Campanian tradition.
